The Problem

People bail out on group plans or flake on events often and hosts have to bear the cost of wasted resources.

The Solution

Help people commit better to group plans and events. In addition, help hosts better predict attendance.

Our app provides prediction of attendance to Hosts of event/group plans so they can allocate their resources effectively. It also helps attendee in making educated decisions about attending events with ability to put down refundable deposit (commitment money) to attend the event which is refunded back upon location check-in the event. Failure to attend leads to its donation to selected charity, reduction in accountability score & rank.

I worked as User Experience Researcher and Product Manager in my team of 3 for the class "Innovations in Information Systems". We used Blue Ocean Strategy to identify a problem, which solution currently does not exist.

Define & Ideate

We identified our target audience and created user personas, scenarios, and storyboards, then we went for survey testing to better understand that this problem does actually exist.

Product Vision

We had identified the key problems but now we wanted to set the vision for our product and wanted to dive deeper to investigate that why people flake on events and what elements can we use in our app to help them commit to events/plans better. Therefore, we conducted Affinity Mapping Session.

We conducted usability testing of wireframes and made iterations in the design depending on the user reviews and System Usability Scale questionnaires results.

WeShare app Project

The Problem

People want to borrow and lend things from the other members in closed communities i.e. sororities, college clubs & organizations.

The Solution

Create an app which would help users' keep track of things they borrowed and lent, in addition to creating space for them to request & borrow things within groups.

Our app provides functionalities to keep track of items lent & borrowed, also provides a platform to borrow items in trusted shared communities and create request for items. It also has features of filtered search, groups & messaging.

I worked as User Experience Designer in my team of 4 for the class "Interaction Design Overview". We were assigned to create a community sharing app for closed communities.

Define & Ideate

We conducted field search interview and then identified our target audience and created user personas, scenarios, and customer journey maps to make UI flows.

We conducted design audits of similar applications and brainstormed for our app's UI flows and created initial wireframes

The Problem

Airport at San Juan Island, Atlantis Hub, needed an interactive flyer to display its connecting flights, trains and ferries to five other islands.

The Solution

Create a flyer with animation and simple map to show departing flights, trains, ferries for quick glances.

Our flyer provides info about maps and connecting routes to other San Juan Islands via airplane, trains & ferries. Given that users can not touch to interact with the flyer, we have incorporated animations for content to be dynamic and transitioning.

I worked as Interaction Designer in my team of 4 for the class "Interaction Design Overview".

Define & Ideate

For the scope of the project, there were the personas (stakeholder, users) given to my team for satisfying their needs with the flyer. We further created scenarios & storyboards to sort data and make sketches.

Final Prototype
Iteration

After wireframing & user testing we decided to create a vertical flyer to incorporate map at the bottom for quick glance for a user heading that way and other info to be dynamically displayed. Below is the animated final version.
