Womanova

The Problem

Doctor Denise Doward, Gynecologist, & Assistant Professor at Weill Medical Cornell published a book "Essence of You", a gynecological health guide. As a client, she requested for a mobile app for it which would be interactive and fun.

The Solution

Build an app which helps women in educating themselves better on their bodies and gynecological health issues in engaging manner.

Our app provides updates on gynecological related topics in news feed manner, interactive quizzes, trophies' badges, login streak, symptom diary and medication reminders. A female guide for women of all ages.

I worked as Front-end Developer and Design Lead in my team of 5 women for the class "Information Systems Consulting Project". We were working as Consultants to cater for our Client's needs.

Application's Features

Womanova is a Progressive Web App/ Hybrid app, which we created using Ionic Framework. It includes:

Symptom Diary - for women to record their symptoms for later gynecologist visits.
Medication Reminders.
Different chapters on gynecological health - which are constantly updated by Dr. Howard.
WordPress API of the Content Management System we created for Dr. Howard to update content in the app.
Interactive Quizzes to test users' knowledge.
Rewards in form of badges for scoring in quizzes.
Login Streak to encourage users to come back to the app.
Database containing all the chapters data and users' accounts data.
Encrypted users' accounts login information.
Profile pages for different users of app.

The Problem

People get sad and have blues due to several reasons. How to cheer them up?

The Solution

Take clues from people about the reasons of their blues and cheer them up by providing a tailored music playlist.

Our app provides tailored music playlist by using YouTube API and motivational quotes to lift the user's mood. Give us clues and we will take away your blues!

I worked as Front-end Developer and Design Lead in my team of 2 for the class "Data Structures". We used Java Hashmaps to create maps between mood and the reason of the mood to generate a randomized YouTube API song for the combination and motivational image below it.
